Basketball is played between two teams on the dedicated basketball court with five players of each team and does not require much basketball equipment.  The goal of the game is to keep the ball from the reach of the opposite team and throwing it into the basket of the opponent team.

Court: A basketball court is needed to play the game of basketball. A standard basketball court is a rectangular surface of the size 28X15 meters with baskets at both the ends. Generally the surface of the court is made of wood.

• Ball: The ball is made out of synthetic material like leather or rubber. The perimeter of the ball is around 75-78 centimeters. The ideal weight of the ball is around 600-650 grams. Also the ball has to be properly inflated. Ideally when the ball is dropped from a height of 6 feet it should rebound to a height of 4 feet.
• Dress: The basketball dress consists of a jersey, shorts, shoes and socks. Each team would be having their own basketball uniforms. Ideally, the dress should be loose and comfortable.
• Other Accessories: When played at higher levels, the game of basketball would also need equipment such as scoreboards, score sheets, clocks and stop watches.
